Members terminated Pradhan & Rao and appointed Krishna Tanna as the new advocate for redevelopment work.

The Special General Body Meeting held on 25 January 2026 focused primarily on the society's legal representation for the redevelopment.

Members discussed concerns regarding the progress of the Development Agreement, including delays, the treatment of the tender document and differences between the society's expectations and the approach taken by the existing lawyer.

The Redevelopment Management Team explained that a trust deficit had developed over issues including the appointment of the developer, issuance of the LOI and acceptance of the developer's earnest money. Concerns were also raised about the tender document not being incorporated adequately into the Development Agreement.

Three potential legal firms were discussed: Krishna Tanna, Divya Shah & Associates, and Abhishek Sharma & Associates. Their experience, fees and suitability for the society's redevelopment work were considered.

After discussion, the appointment of Krishna Tanna was put to a vote and approved by majority. The General Body resolved to terminate the services of Pradhan & Rao with immediate effect and appoint Krishna Tanna as the advocate for the society's redevelopment work.

The meeting also approved the appointment of Bansi Mehta & Co. for direct-tax advice relating to the Development Agreement. Indirect-tax consultancy was left open for decision in consultation between the MC and RDC.

Members were also updated on pending Collector matters, including approximately ₹18 lakh payable towards the UCO Bank premium.
