Vox Veena – 5 October 2025

We had a SGM today, 5th October. This was in  response to a requisition by 30 members ( two gave their consent on WhatsApp messages).

There were 8 resolutions. So what did the resolutions contain:

1) Replacing the current MOU between the MC and RDC with a new set of rules. Hope this is the last one by RDC. This basically governs the interactions between the RDC and MC. With the new rules passed RDC is not a sub-committee but an independent advisory body of the GB that works with the MC for the redevelopment.

2) Video recording - MC had begun recording videos of all redevelopment meetings. With the resolution passed, this now becomes mandatory.

3) Website - That is interesting. Members will soon have a website to check on all redevelopment related matters. This will be particularly useful when we leave the premises. Our PMC will also have a website for us which gives updates on the current construction status.

4) Another important resolution that was passed was to enable members who don't live in the city to participate in meetings through remote logins. However, voting on these meetings is subject to registrar clearance. Good news is that today we had about 11 members participate in Zoom for the developer presentations.

5) The GB authorised the RDC to help the MC in the UCO bank litigation. RDC member Sanjay Kher will help us in this. All documents and papers related to the case will be shared with the RDC.

6) The final and somewhat contentious resolution was replacing the current law firm. The resolution was passed with a show of hands majority vote. 44 members were present at the meeting. 30 voted for the removal, 6 voted against and 8 abstained from voting. Now the process begins to find a new lawyer.

Two other resolutions  -  on shortlisting of bidders and on the process note to be adopted when hiring consultants was already passed in the earlier SGM.
