Three site visits today—assemble 9:30. Observe and note design, safety, amenities; share insights.

Site visits today

We will be visiting three sites today. We assemble at 09:30 am to set off.

Rustomjee Crown in Prabhadevi, Rustomjee Parishram in Pali, Bandra West and Rustomjee Seasons across Patrakar. Agami site visit will be in Bandra East after their presentation on 12th. It could be on 14th. The date is still not finalised.

It may be good for us to make the best of the three site visits tomorrow by all of us making notes of what we liked and what we did not like. Is there an idea worth taking to our project or is there something that is a complete no-no for us.

And, there are trade-offs. For example, some buildings make an imposing impression from the exterior. They could have a large and dominating reception. Others could be more functional and less imposing. The two are of course, tradeoffs. More reception area may imply less area for greenery or playgrounds or other facilities for habitants.

Security. How many entrances to the Society? How many cameras?

Safety of inhabitants. Does the walking track clash with the children’s playground?

Conveniences. Is there any place and conveniences for staff including drivers. There will be lots of drivers.

It may be good if anyone has an idea of what is a good balance for the amount of area with greenery and how much is concrete. What is a good colour composition? How many elevators per floor or apartments? Parking convenience; entry and exit of cars from parking to the street.

I hope they will allow us to take pictures.

If we are allowed to take a peak inside the flats, we could look at room sizes, how big or small is the hall, facilities in the kitchen, ventilation, windows with only glass or net, dry area for hanging clothes.

The above jottings are only to set all of us thinking to ensure that the site visits are truly productive.

Lets exchange notes after the visits. Paste your views on the RdC Patrakar group for others to note your observations and also email your ideas and suggestions to me at veenukrishna28@gmail.com so that I can consolidate all your views.
